great for calculus

I'm a community college student who had to sign up for a calculus 2 summer course at the last second, and after the first class meeting with the professor, I really thought I'd just have to drop the class. None of the material made sense, combined with the crazy pacing for the curriculum and my professor's very thick accent, and I was ready to fail before I had even started. After my first meeting with Joyce, for the first time, I had a feeling that I actually understood the work I was doing. I was genuinely hopeless about that class, but after one meeting I instantly felt like I would be able to pass it. I really only gathered maybe 20-30% of the information taught in class, then often in as little as an hour, Joyce would teach me the remaining multiple chapters worth of material until I truly felt confident I could pass the upcoming test. It really felt like a guarantee that I would be ready for the tests as long as I could schedule a meeting or two with Joyce beforehand. She was very patient and helped me understand what I was doing right, as well as wrong. Joyce always wrote out notes as I followed along, which she provided after the meetings, and even offered video recommendations and further practice material for outside of meetings. She was always responsive and easy to reach, and was always willing to answer questions outside of meetings as well. Truly a great tutor, especially for people receiving one-on-one tutoring for the first time, and I would highly recommend.

Great tutor for AP Psychology

Joyce guided my daughter to achieve a score of "5" in AP Psychology this year.We appreciate her kindness and patience to teach her in past months since Oct, Y23 til May, Y24 (beginning of AP Exam).As we remember, her previous high school student tutor left her when entering the university, after that we're so lucky to seek "Joyce" in Wyzant to continue the tutorial lessons.When the term commenced, my daughter faced some difficulties in HS unit tests. Then we arranged weekly lessons with Joyce to assist her in both unit tests & exam.My daughter said Joyce has helped her much in understanding the definitions and thinking of specific applications related to the complicated terms in Psychology. Prior to the examination, Joyce provided different FRQs to train her various skills in answering the questions. Great thanks to Joyce!!

Joyce helped me a lot. AP Calc BC was more difficult for me in comparison to AB because, somehow, I just wasn’t understanding the new topics. I’d do fine on my homework but as soon as the tests came, I wouldn’t do well. Joyce really helped me to understand the basics and remember good strategies on how to figure a problem out when I had no idea where to even start. We had a few lessons but I started to get better and better after each lesson. She would give me some extra packets to practice and was always available when I had a question, even when we didn’t have a scheduled session. I really liked how she would send me the things we went over so that I could go back and review them while I was studying. Again, thank you so much!

My son had a few precalc/calc sessions now with Joyce. She’s patient and clear in explanations when going over examples for derivatives and graphing. Memory tactics and simplifying problems were such valuable methods! She also provides and reviews supplemental resources. What a gem!

Best decision I ever made !!!

My daughter needed help in calculas 2 and I was desperate looking for help. Thank god I came across this website but most importantly is I chose the best tutor! Joyce is so patient and so helpful and has such a way of explaining things that has improved my daughters understanding is calculas. She explains things step by step and gives exercises and easier ways to solve a problem does memory exercises. She is amazing and she always explains everything she has taught my daughter in ever lesson . She is honest and very up front something I appreciate. Joyce is always willing to help even after tutoring .My daughter has her cell number so when she needs help with a problem or has questions on homework Joyce helps her . Joyce is an amazing tutor and she is always on top of things and is always so quick to respond to my questions and emails. I'm so thankful for her and my daughter is really learning and very comfortable with Joyce and loves her teaching style.She works around my daughters schedule and she is so understanding.
